May 2010
I am sure a lot of you have heard about the January 1st-2nd storm that we had here in Truro. The storm caused drastic changes to the contours of the beach. Fom Pamet Harbor to past Cold Storage Beach the landscape has changed. Many drift fences were destroyed, stairways and the elevation changes were dramatic. We at Sunset Acres lost 72" in elevation. That's right six foot change. Where you used to step off the ramp to the beach, there was a 72" drop straight down. The upside of things is that all the sand was taken straight out and we now have a beautiful somewhat flat beach with little or no rocks. We have rebuilt again. We now have a landing at the end of the ramp with 11 steps that lead to another landing and then off to the beach. The steps have a 6 inch riser and are easy to climb. There are benches at each of the landings. The bottom line is, you have complete access to the beach. See you all this summer!!
